Chris Heslam

Chris Heslam

Physiotherapist

BSc (Hons), MCSP

I'm Chris, from Sheffield, and I mainly work across our Wakefield clinics!

My background has been in rugby predominantly and I've played to a high level including stints for Leicester Tigers and Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire on a county level.

Since stopping rugby I've become all things strength training obsessed, dabbling in the likes of strongman and powerlifting with the aim of earning the 'Worlds Strongest Dad' title while trying to keep up some hiking, wild swimming and trail running. My rehabilitation experience spans across complex poly-trauma through to treating high level athletes and to those wanting to work on their health, strength and ability to live a fulfilling life that fills their cup!

When I'm not working or training you'll find me half way up a mountain or on a lake with my wife and son!

"Chris was amazing. I always enjoy seeing new practitioners to get a better insight into my chronic pain. Chris taught me some great new things that no one had explained to me before, particularly about hypermobility. 10/10 recommend."

My name is Jack Gilmartin, and I’m an MSK physiotherapist at Regen Physio. I work with a broad mix of clients, from competitive athletes and regular gym-goers, to people who simply want to move more comfortably and enjoy an active lifestyle.

Coming from a background in semi-professional rugby and strength & conditioning, I know first-hand the challenges of training, performing, and managing setbacks. That experience shapes the way I work: combining hands-on treatment with practical, tailored rehab plans that are easy to follow and designed to deliver real progress.

I place a big emphasis on education and clarity, making sure clients understand their condition and feel confident in how to manage it. Rehab should feel purposeful and motivating, not a boring checklist – and I always aim to keep it engaging while focused on each person’s goals.

Outside of the clinic, I spend most of my time on the rugby pitch or in the gym, and I enjoy testing myself both physically and mentally. The same drive that fuels my sport carries into my work, where my priority is helping people return to the activities that matter most to them.

Liz Davey

Liz Davey

Physiotherapist

BSc (Hons), MCSP

Hi, I’m Liz.

Movement has always been a huge part of my life. I grew up training and competing in gymnastics, trampolining and athletics, so I know just how much dedication, strength, and resilience it takes to perform at your best—and how frustrating it can be when injury gets in the way. But injury is not the end, it is a turning point. With the right plan, you don’t just recover, you come back better.

That’s what led me to Physiotherapy. After initially studying Sport Science & Physiology at the University of Leeds, I returned to complete a degree in Physiotherapy. I wanted to combine my love for sport with a deeper understanding of the body, so I could help others recover, rebuild, and return to doing what they love - whether that’s elite competition or simply feeling confident in everyday movement.

As a Physiotherapist, I take a hands-on and holistic approach. I utilise the wide variety of experiences I have gained working as a Physiotherapist in the Private Sector and the NHS, and as a Pilates, Yoga and gymnastics instructor, in my treatment plans. I work to understand not just the injury, but you—your life, your sport, your goals, and what’s important to you. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing a chronic issue, or aiming to improve performance, I’m here to support your journey.

"I had a fantastic experience with Liz. She was very competent, friendly and set me up for success with my recovery! Would definitely recommend!"

I’ve trained across multiple disciplines, and my current focus is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I enjoy helping people return to the activities they love, perform at their best, and stay injury-free.

Ryan Zolakio

Ryan Zolakio

Physiotherapist

BSc (Hons), MCSP

I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a 1st class degree in 2025. During my time at university, I was given the opportunity to work along side some of the most experienced physiotherapists in the public sector and private sector, including a professional rugby team, where I rehabilitated professional athletes. My ambition for physiotherapy was driven by my passion for human biology as well as implementing it with healthcare. Having endeavoured in sports all my life, I can understand how devastating and debilitating an injury can be, which is why I take pride in ensuring that all my patients’ pain, no matter how minimal, is taken with the upmost care and consideration.

My physio ethos “movement is medicine” is reflected through my hobbies, which consist of: football, boxing and gym. I strive to encourage my patients to also get moving as it truly is the solution to most problems. Aside from that, I enjoy cooking, reading and travelling.

"Ryan at Regen Physio provided an excellent sports massage, focusing on key areas as discussed beforehand. Would recommend."

Sophie Crowley

Sophie Crowley

Physiotherapist

BSc (Hons), MCSP

Hi I’m Sophie - I’m a physio working in our Castleford, Ackworth & Rotherham clinics.

I grew up in Somerset and, started my training in Cardiff before moving to finish in Sheffield (slowly making my way further North)…

In my spare time I love trail running, and use every opportunity I can to work on races to learn from the best (and use it as a cheeky excuse for a holiday)! I’ve crewed runners through UTMB, Ultra X, and am currently looking to plan my own races at UTS and Slovenia 110km next year.

I love getting outside, so I really appreciate how much an injury can set you back from doing the things you love & really start to effect your mental health. I work with everyone of all ages and lifestyles, just hoping to get you the life you want to live (even if that’s better than it was pre-injury). If you have any questions, or aren’t sure if physio is for you - please reach out & we’ll see how we can point you in the right direction.

"Friendly, experienced and knowledgeable. Honestly, I think Sophie must know everything about all muscles and what to do with them!! Couldn't be more pleased with the service and treatment 😊"

Tom helps clients to achieve their goals by treating the causes of their symptoms, as well as their underlying condition.
