Ryan Zolakio

Physiotherapist

BSc (Hons), MCSP

Batley, Leeds Central

I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a 1st class degree in 2025. During my time at university, I was given the opportunity to work along side some of the most experienced physiotherapists in the public sector and private sector, including a professional rugby team, where I rehabilitated professional athletes. My ambition for physiotherapy was driven by my passion for human biology as well as implementing it with healthcare. Having endeavoured in sports all my life, I can understand how devastating and debilitating an injury can be, which is why I take pride in ensuring that all my patients’ pain, no matter how minimal, is taken with the upmost care and consideration.

My physio ethos “movement is medicine” is reflected through my hobbies, which consist of: football, boxing and gym. I strive to encourage my patients to also get moving as it truly is the solution to most problems. Aside from that, I enjoy cooking, reading and travelling.

MSc

Batley

I graduated with an MSc in Physiotherapy and Sports & Exercise Medicine from the University of Bradford in 2023. I am a Physiotherapist with a strong background in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, sports injury management, and private practice care. I have experience treating a wide range of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, helping patients return to sport, work, and everyday activities with confidence.

Alongside my clinic work, I also work within semi-professional women’s football, providing injury assessment, rehabilitation, pitch-side care, and return-to-play support for athletes competing in high-performance environments. My previous experience includes working across professional and semi-professional sport with organisations including Wakefield Trinity, Leeds Rhinos, York Valkyrie, Glebe Dirty Reds NSW Rugby League in Australia, and the University of Sydney Sports Clinic.

I have a particular interest in sports injuries, lower limb rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and helping people regain confidence in movement and performance. I take a patient-centred approach and combine evidence-based treatment with tailored rehabilitation plans designed around each individual’s goals and lifestyle.

Outside of work, I enjoy netball, running, gym training, and promoting health and wellbeing through an active lifestyle.

BSc (Hons)

Ackworth, Batley, Rotherham

Hi I’m Johan, a physiotherapist with a background in sports therapy. Bringing patients on their journey from initial appointment, through to a return to daily life and active goals is the most fulfilling part of this role for me. I believe the journey doesn’t just end when the pain stops, we need to make sure it doesn’t come back! By working on achieving personal goals, and developing programmes that address the root cause of their issues, I have helped countless patients get their lives back.

Equality of access to healthcare is a passion of mine, taking special care to address and reduce social prejudices. In particular, I am dedicated to providing accessible care to the intellectually and learning disabled, in addition to those with complex or profound needs. This is best highlighted through my work as the sports therapist for Team GB in the Special Olympics 2023.

Shockwave Therapy in Batley, Dewsbury & Heckmondwike

At Regen Physio Batley, we do Shockwave Therapy differently.

Rather than offering Shockwave Therapy as a standalone treatment, we combine it with expert physiotherapy assessment, hands-on treatment and rehabilitation to give you the best possible chance of a successful recovery.

Research suggests that Shockwave Therapy can be significantly more effective when combined with physiotherapy and rehabilitation compared with Shockwave Therapy alone.

Shockwave Therapy may be suitable for:

  • Plantar Fasciitis and heel pain
  • Achilles Tendinopathy
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Golfer's Elbow
  • Patellar Tendinopathy (Jumper's Knee)
  • Gluteal Tendinopathy
  • Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy
  • Persistent tendon pain
  • Long-standing sports injuries
Shockwave Therapy in Batley, Dewsbury & Heckmondwike

Start With a Physiotherapy Assessment

Every patient begins with a Physiotherapy Initial Assessment & Treatment for £65.

During your appointment, your physiotherapist will assess your condition, explain whether Shockwave Therapy is appropriate and begin treatment immediately.

If Shockwave Therapy is clinically suitable, your first application is included at no additional cost.

Why Most Patients Benefit From a Course of Treatment

Shockwave Therapy is rarely a one-off treatment.

Research and clinical guidelines typically recommend a course of five applications for persistent tendon and soft tissue conditions to achieve the best outcomes.

Your first Shockwave Therapy application is included within your initial assessment.

If you decide to continue treatment, the remaining four Shockwave Therapy applications are available for a one-off fee of £120, delivered alongside your physiotherapy treatment sessions (£55 per session).

This approach allows you to experience the treatment first, understand whether it is right for you and avoid committing to a full treatment programme before you've been assessed.

Why Patients Choose Regen Physio

  • Full Physiotherapy Assessment Before Treatment
  • First Shockwave Application Included If Appropriate
  • No Obligation To Continue
  • Hands-On Physiotherapy Treatment
  • Personalised Rehabilitation Programme
  • Evidence-Based Treatment Approach
  • Transparent Pricing
